Liberty Garden Park and Arboretum

Liberty Garden Park is another pleasant place to go with children.  While there is no playground, there is a half mile walking path, two gazeboes, lots of beautiful flowers, and a children’s Garden.

There are two entrances, one off of Channing Way, and one off of Stonebridge.  Often the Channing Way parking lot is full, but the Stonebridge parking lot is not.

If you enter on the Stonebridge entrance, you pass a deep ravine.  I have seen various animals in there, including this raccoon.

There is a white gazebo.

There is a war memorial.

Next, you come to the children’s garden, which contains some interesting art: trees of different colors.

Flower beds.

A chime that is very fun to hit!

A house full of bricks to build with.

A large field that is perfect for flying a kite or just running around!

A rose garden.

The park is also an arboretum.  Many of the trees have a plaque that tells what they are and who sponsored them.  There are some very interesting and unique trees in the park!

This is a great place to walk or jog, ride a bike or push babies in strollers.  The path is flat and perfect for small children.

In June, there has been a flag display in the past.  I’m not sure if they still do it.  In December, there is a holiday light display.
